What We Do
At our Memory Assessment Clinic, we are dedicated to providing specialized care for individuals experiencing memory loss and other cognitive symptoms. Our team of healthcare professionals, highly trained in neuropsychology and brain imaging analysis, is committed to delivering compassionate and expert care to understand each patient's individual concerns and to provide an accurate diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan.
How We Work
Our team diagnoses memory problems based on neuropsychological and magnetic resonance neuroimaging data. In addition, we design cognitive-brain rehabilitation and stimulation programs centered around the needs of the patient and their family.
Our team diagnoses memory disorders through the integration of neuropsychological assessments and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data.
We also develop personalized cognitive rehabilitation and brain stimulation programs tailored to the needs of each patient and their family.
We know it can be worrying to face the reality that you or your loved one are experiencing memory loss. You may have noticed an increase in forgetfulness or confusion, or that daily life tasks—such as preparing meals or remembering appointments—have become problematic. This does not necessarily mean it is a condition like dementia. However, you will naturally worry if the forgetfulness increases in frequency and severity. You will want to find out what is causing the memory loss and whether it can be treated. By knowing the cause, you will be able to arrange the necessary treatment, care, and support.
A Memory Assessment Service is a specialized service where people experiencing memory loss can go to be evaluated and diagnosed. These services are led by healthcare professionals specializing in neuropsychology and brain imaging analysis. They investigate the cause of the memory loss and other symptoms, and advise on treatment options based on cognitive stimulation and compensatory strategies. These experts can help you find the assistance you may need in the future.
During the initial consultation, the specialist will discuss your concerns with you to gain a better understanding of your experiences, or those of your loved one. You may be asked questions about your medical history, as well as your personal, social, and professional life. Our experts will carefully listen to your concerns in order to build an accurate picture of what has been happening. You will then undergo a series of cognitive assessments and brain imaging scans, which will help provide a deeper understanding of the symptoms you are experiencing.
Following the initial consultation, we will gain a deeper understanding of the individual’s current cognitive function and memory abilities. The first step is a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation, commonly known as a memory assessment.
Following the neuropsychological assessment, an MRI brain scan may be recommended. This allows our specialists to evaluate the structure and health of the brain, identifying any areas of damage or abnormality. MRI provides detailed insights into the brain regions involved in memory, cerebral blood supply, and the condition of blood vessels that may contribute to memory difficulties. It can also detect other potential causes of cognitive symptoms, such as changes in metabolic activity, brain oedema, or tumours.
