Are you worried about your memory?
At the Memory Clinic
We have a specialized team
to help you.

You may have noticed an increase in forgetfulness or confusion, or that daily life tasks—such as preparing meals or remembering appointments—have become problematic. This does not necessarily mean it is a condition like dementia. By understanding the cause, you will be able to arrange the right treatment, care, and obtain the necessary support.

About Us

The Memory Clinic features an innovative, multidisciplinary clinical team with an extensive research background in applied neuroscience specialized in memory. Furthermore, it counts on prestigious national and international advisory members to bring the most cutting-edge science to patient diagnosis and treatment.

WHAT WE DO

Our team diagnoses memory problems based on neuropsychological and magnetic resonance neuroimaging data. In addition, we design cognitive-brain rehabilitation and stimulation programs centered around the needs of the patient and their family.

We know it can be worrying to face the reality that you or your loved one are experiencing memory loss. You may have noticed an increase in forgetfulness or confusion, or that daily life tasks—such as preparing meals or remembering appointments—have become problematic. This does not necessarily mean it is a condition like dementia. However, you will naturally worry if the forgetfulness increases in frequency and severity. You will want to find out what is causing the memory loss and whether it can be treated. By knowing the cause, you will be able to arrange the necessary treatment, care, and support.

A Memory Assessment Service is a specialized service where people experiencing memory loss can go to be evaluated and diagnosed. These services are led by healthcare professionals specializing in neuropsychology and brain imaging analysis. They investigate the cause of the memory loss and other symptoms, and advise on treatment options based on cognitive stimulation and compensatory strategies. These experts can help you find the assistance you may need in the future.

REHABILITATION

The rehabilitation program implemented in this service is based on the assessment and rehabilitation programs of the Great Ormond Street Hospital (London, UK) and the work of Drs. Barbara Wilson and Jon Evans at the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK).

Our program's central focus is the planning of individualized goals short- and long-term with the patient and family, aimed at improving daily life. The goals must meet the characteristics described below.

RESEARCH

With a background in neuroanatomy and experimental psychology, our interests are two-fold. One is neuroscience, with the overall goal of understanding the mechanisms of cortical and subcortical function involved in information processing and memory consolidation. On a more translational level, we work with pediatric and adult populations, with the overall goal of understanding the developmental plasticity of brain networks in health and after trauma.
